It is important to Viva to offer sport and physical activities to our learners. It is rare in informal settlements to have the space and facilities to promote all the sport disciplines that we take for granted in other schools. We have introduced athletics, mini-cricket, netball and table tennis and the aim is to add more disciplines as resources permits.
At the Viva Refilwe campus, we were able to put a ball court up on the outdoor stage and it is utilised to teach netball and basketball.
The lawns are used for mini-cricket, and we have Table Tennis tables in the school hall.
Once a year we celebrate a big Sport Day at the Refilwe campus and bring all our learners from the Mamelodi and Refilwe campuses together. This is one of the highlights of our year.
